Honestly, this situation is obscene.
An ambulance officer takes a 10-hour break after completing a 1712-hour shift and before working another two 14-hour shifts _ and his pay gets docked.
All for taking a 10-hour break!
Now a halt on industrial action on Tuesday night means our ambos are ``voluntarily'' back to an eight-hour break between shifts.
That's just eight hours to eat, sleep, spend time with family and friends and to pursue personal interests.
They are regularly phoned while sleeping on rostered days off to cover extra shifts....
